About Your Host
Mediator, Author, Hostage Negotiator CNT
Sean Collinson's current career path evolved from personal and familial challenges that originated in the Bedford Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, New York, the very same neighborhood as Jay Z. Raised by his teenage mother, who gave birth to him at the age of 14, and his maternal grandmother, Sean's life was marked by tragedy as his father fell victim to a fatal gunshot when Sean was just a toddler. Despite struggling academically and being influenced by a challenging environment, he defied the odds and charted a course out of the streets of Brooklyn. This journey led him to secure a recording contract with the renowned Epic/Tabu Records, the late Clarence Avant. Under the alias "Kid Flash," Sean burst onto the music scene in 1988 with the debut track "Hot Like Fire." Sean's story is a testament to his unwavering determination, relentless drive, and enduring belief that all individuals, himself included, can strive for improvement.
